Michael Schumacher’s family have expressed their thanks to a Donegal fan for sending the coma-stricken Formula One legend a Mass card and other religious gifts from Knock.
The seven-time world champion has been in a medically induced coma since his Christmas skiing accident, when he badly injured his head, causing serious swelling of the brain.
Louise Dillon from Donegal penned a letter to the legend having been a huge fan for many years and having travelled the globe to watch him race.
She also sent the retired race driving star several gifts from Knock, including a Mass card, a miraculous medal, a Novena to St Jude the Patron Saint of Hopeless Causes and Desperate Situations, and a Pope John Paul II prayer card.
Speaking to The Irish Catholic this week, Louise said: “I personally have a strong faith and I know Michael is a person of faith too so I thought it would be a nice to send him the Mass card and gifts. Then I received a letter from his wife thanking me for everything. It’s nice to know it made a difference,” she said.
