Mags GarganThornhill Ministries in Derry is hosting a workshop by Fr Hugh Lagan SMA for those working as chaplains, in healthcare teams or pastoral teams, and a seminar specifically for clergy.
Fr Lagan is a native of Maghera, Co. Derry, a priest with the Society of African Missions and a clinical psychologist. He is currently working closely with Church leadership in southern Africa to develop education and clinical services for priests and religious in that region.
The strength-based workshop (9.30am–12.30pm, June 13) is aimed at members of multi-disciplinary healthcare teams, chaplains in various pastoral settings, school and hospital pastoral care teams, members of parish pastoral teams, and anyone who is trying to contribute in a team context to deliver support and development programmes.
The seminar (2–5.45pm, June 13) will have a different dynamic as it is designed specifically for clergy. Entitled ‘Finding Fulfillment’, it will explore ways for priests and deacons to find support as they endeavor to minister to others.
