Clogher priest conference plan to engage lay-led liturgy Monsignor Joseph McGuinness

The Diocese of Clogher plans to engage priests and laity in the coming months in the development of lay-led prayer.

Clogher’s Annual General Priests’ Conference in Monaghan, chaired by Diocesan Administrator Msgr Joseph McGuinness, dealt with a variety of organisational matters for diocesan and parish life in the year ahead including lay-led prayer and liturgies for a variety of occasions in parishes.

This action follows on from Msgr McGuinness’ recent letter ‘The Future Mission of Our Parishes’, which dealt with the challenges and opportunities facing the diocese today and into the future.

Keynote

The keynote speaker was psychologist Shane Martin of Moodwatchers who focused on the theme of resilience and the capacity of everyone to spring back to a more perfect journey of life from moments of crisis.

Those in attendance, which included priests, members of several diocesan committees and diocesan staff, were reminded of the realities that everyone is vulnerable and everyone underestimates the potential to bounce back.
